How to comfort a sick Shin Hye Sung

Authors note: My first Shinhwa fanfic and I do not know if I’ll continue this or not, it will totally depend on the response I will receive. Please bewarned it’s Eric-Hyesung fanfic.

It has been few months since Shin Hyesung started recording for his winter album and days since he began promoting it. With Shinhwa Broadcast -he was thankful for the new format to stay in one studio-, preparation for the next album, and appearances he need to do, his only rest time was his few hours of sleep. He was only glad to know his members wholeheartedly supported his solo career and he never wanted to think about the opposite.

And now the temperature has finally dropped to minus, his lack of rest and constant feeling of nervousness made his body vulnerable. He was sick and his colds made his voice slightly turned weird. He was panicking because it was already three days since he felt unwell, and its not good. Terribly making him more feel restless.

Hyesung knew his scheduled Shinhwa Broadcast recording tomorrow and he felt somehow relieved to be with the members who constantly lightens his mood. His colds should stop— his mobile tone jerking him from his meditation.

‘Yes?’

‘Pilkyo,’ Eric said, ‘how’s your colds? Have you taken your medication?’

‘I’m not drinking meds Eric, because it will only make me feel sleepy drowse-or-non-drowse meds.’ I lied down on the mat, resting my eyes. ‘And about the colds, its the same. I can’t take risk of drinking pills now because I might wake up very late. I hope you understand.’

‘I do, I really do. Its just that I’m worried, okay? I’ve done my best to watch the live broadcast and in my point of view, you really need to rest.’

‘I do but I have responsibilities. I can’t just cancel one or two appointments just because I’m not feeling good. I will never do that unless I’m back at the hospital for my treatment.’ And with those words that Eric made my night worse -his nagging.

‘Wait! Are your knees hurting? Is it acting up again? Have you been drinking pain reliever? What—’

‘Stop.’ Hyesung pinched the bridge of his nose. He feels a terrible headache was coming. ‘I am fine. Stop worrying.’

Eric sighed. ‘Fine, I’ll stop but on one condition.’

‘What?’

Hyesung feels Eric was smirking and its making him clench in frustration. ‘Sing it to me again.’

‘No.’

‘Promise I’ll bring you a hot chicken soup after.’

Him and his worry-butts. ‘How about you drop in my soup and I’ll sing.’

‘No, I want to hear it now. Listen, I’m already preparing your soup and it’ll take few minutes so you sing it for me now. Swear on Gomdori I’ll shut my mouth.’

Hyesung was speechless. He never could win an argument against Eric.

‘I’m not going to beg you Jung Pilkyo and just sing!’

‘Why do you persistently asks me to sing when you said it yourself that you’re tracking my music show appearance? And I can definitely make my own soup, thank you for the offer.’

Hyesung stood and went to his bedroom closet to open a small drawer.

‘Because you promised me that you’ll always sing your songs to me before it will be broadcasted—’

‘Precisely my point. I’ve done it and its already been three days since I started promoting it.’ Hyesung grabbed his necklace at the farend of the drawer. ‘Spare me a few I’m just going to do something.’

‘I’m going to wait—’

Hyesung did not wait for the sentence as he dropped his phone on the table on his left, donning his simple gold necklace made from tiny characters of ㅈ•ㅍ. He looked at the mirror and ran his fingers at the letters; it made him smile whenever he wear the jewelry. Taking granted the silence, he then blew his itchy nose.

”Isn’t my soup not yet done?’ He knew he tried to avoid fulfilling Eric’s request. It was within reason.

‘It will, so sing.’

‘You’ll never stop, will you not?’

‘Nope, so sing.’ Hyesung heard Eric laughed eventhough the latter did not made any sound.

‘My voice sounds weird.’ He argued.

‘It doesn’t matter. I’ve always love your voice, so sing.’

Imprudent worry-wart. ‘Fine.’ And so he sang.

True to his words Eric did not even breathe loud.

‘Thank you and expect me in a few. Hanging up.’

With that, after a few minutes that Eric showed up infront of his door carrying the soup on one hand and Gomdori on the other.

‘Come in.’

Eric dropped his dog and directly went on his kitchen to grab a spoon while Hyesung sat on the couch in front of the television.

The aroma of the soup made him sleepy and when a hand gently pulled him over, he stared at the man.

‘Don’t sleep yet, Pilkyo and eat the soup before it turns cold.’

A spoon was placed to his right. ‘Thanks, you know I can handle myself.’ He softly blew the soup and took a bite. ‘This is good.’

‘Why did you not tell me you’re suffering for 3 days? You feel very hot Pilkyo and its not good.’

Eric began rubbing his back. His big hand feel hot on his cotton jacket and it feel good. ‘I’ve only told Choongjae since he kept on asking my condition. He has watched my first broadcast and saw through me so he kept pestering me if I’m fine until I’ve had enough. So I told him. And that’s why I didn’t tell you. I’ve already have someone to look over me since he said he will not get very busy until this week.’

‘Oh.’

Hyesung looked at Eric and sighed. He grabbed Eric’s left hand to touch at his necklace. ‘Stop whatever you’re thinking.’ He let him caress his neck too while he turn back to his soup.

Gently Eric leaned over and kissed his left ear. Hyesung shivered and closed his eyes. When a hand grabbed his soup, he let it go as he turn his body towards the soft assulting lips. Eric kissed his forehead, his nose and cheeks. He feels Eric pulling them both to lie on the couch.

‘It’ll feel uncomfortable.’ Hyesung mumbled as he buried his face to Eric’s neck.

‘You want the bed?’ Eric hugged him tightly as he kissed his head.

‘Will you stay the night?’ Hyesung was slightly feeling uncomfortable to their position as they both cramped at his small couch. His half body was lying on Eric’s as their both legs twisted to each other.

‘I will, so come up.’

Hyesung pushed himself up and eyed his unfinished soup.

‘I’ll make you another one tomorrow.’

Hyesug nodded. He let himself be dragged by Eric towards his bedroom. ‘Don’t sleep naked.’ He reminded the man.

‘I will not.’

He lied down at the bed and waited for Eric to join him. He closed his eyes. He slightly jerked when he felt a cold thing on his forehead. ‘What’s that?’

‘Its a cool fever sticky thing that sucks the excess heat on your body.’

‘Thank you.’ Hyesung felt the dipped on the bed as Eric climbed over his side.

‘You’re welcome.’ Eric pulled him and hugged him tightly, letting his right arm act as his pillow while whispering, ‘Don’t ever make me worry again, okay?’ Eric kissed again his forehead.

Hyesung didn’t respond. His mind and body felt at ease, and he was already going to his dreamland.

It was awesome, just the right amount of believability, and that tad of bromance ~ I don't know what rating I'd be comfortable with, but I trust that you'll make it believable, and no one's out of character, etc. High potential, great job! (also i was sorta thinking of writing a realistic ricsyung based on current events, but I've got no time. So please do it for me XD)

Thank you! Though I’m still thinking of what I’ll write if ever I decided to continue the story or just write another plot since after rereading it myself, I find it can be read as a oneshot. This is written in a whim so I do not know when I’ll update, if ever. Well, I’m also an avid fan of somehow realistic fictions so I’ll be looking forward to yours! :D
